Protocols
A protocol is a set-and-rep scheme with a name. Some structures repeat program after program — a 5/3/1 wave, a French contrast sequence, your standard tempo-run ladder. Write the structure as a protocol once. The library then holds the exact scheme for every program you write.
A protocol is made of segments — its rows. A single-scheme protocol has one segment. A multi-segment protocol chains several — top sets, then back-offs, for example.
The protocols list
In the builder, protocols live under BUILD. The list is tabbed by discipline — All, Lift, Sprint, Jump, Throw, Distance, each with its count. The toolbar adds a search field that matches name or scheme. Two dropdowns filter further: Scope (Org or System) and Structure (Single scheme or Multi-segment). Each row shows the protocol's discipline, its scheme, how many segments it has, and how many programs use it.
Creating a protocol
- Pick a discipline
Lift · Sprint · Jump · Throw · Distance. The discipline decides which columns the scheme uses — loads and percentages for Lift, distances and paces for Distance. Switching the discipline clears the scheme you wrote. The builder warns you before it clears anything.
- Write the scheme
Quick-add uses the same language as the editor's helper bar: "Type a set/rep scheme and press Enter". Writing schemes covers the syntax. Each entry becomes a segment. Add, Duplicate, and Delete segments until the structure is right.
- Name it and file it
Give the protocol a Name, a Description, and Coaching notes if the scheme needs explaining. Save. The protocol lands in your organization's library. Every coach in the organization can open it — the same sharing model as exercises.

Managing the library
The list's status tabs track each protocol's lifecycle: Active, Drafts, and Archived. Open a protocol to see its actions. Duplicate makes a variant of an active protocol. Archive retires a scheme without deleting it. Restore moves an archived protocol back to Active.
System protocols work like system exercises: you can't edit them in place. Duplicate to edit forks a copy into your organization's library.
Using a protocol in a program
Applying a protocol by name from inside the editor is not available yet. Today you carry the scheme across yourself:
- Read the scheme
Open the protocol in the library. Its scheme is on the protocol, one line per segment.
- Type it into the helper bar
Select the exercise in the program editor. Type the scheme into the helper bar. Press Enter.
The bar reads the same syntax the protocol is written in, so the scheme lands as the volume rows the protocol describes. Those rows are ordinary volume rows — edit them like anything else.
