Staff roles and permissions
Every staff member has one of three roles. The role decides what they can change in your web dashboard.
- Admin — runs the organization: billing, staff, teams, forms, and the Storefront.
- Head coach — runs the teams they head: team settings and the roster.
- Coach — coaches the athletes on their teams.
Head coach and Coach are the same organization role. The difference is the coach's seat on a team: a head coach heads it.
What each role can do
| Admin | Head coach | Coach | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Billing and plan | Yes | — | — |
| Invite and remove staff | Yes | — | — |
| Create and archive teams | Yes | — | — |
| Team settings and roster | Yes | Their teams | — |
| Invite athletes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Program team and athlete calendars | Yes | Yes | Yes |
The Staff page shows this table under What each role can do. Team rows apply to the coach's own teams. An organization always keeps at least one admin.
A few surfaces are for admins only:
- Organization > Settings — the organization's profile, its intake and readiness forms, and its readiness rules.
- Sell > Storefront — everything about selling. Coaches don't see the Sell group at all.
- Message audit — the read-only review of team conversations.
Coaches also see My teams instead of Teams, and Today lists only the athletes on their teams.
