Getting set up

The first run is short. You sign in, answer a few questions about how you train, and tell the app which days you have. Everything here is skippable or changeable later. Nothing you enter is a commitment.

  1. Sign in with your account

Use the same email you signed up or accepted your invite with. Your programs, purchases, and history attach to your account, not your device. If a coach sent you an invite link, open it. Once you install the app, links from coaches open straight into it.

  2. Answer the intake questions

The app asks about your goal, your experience, the equipment you have, your schedule, and body details. These answers tune what you see. You can skip every one of them. You can revisit your answers later from Profile.

  3. Enter your maxes, or don't

If you know a 1RM or working max for your main lifts, enter it now. Percent-based prescriptions then resolve to actual loads from day one. If you don't know a number, leave it blank. Your coach can test maxes in week one. You can save a max at any point from Profile or inside a session. Read more in Maxes and percentages.

  4. Set your training days or start week

When you start a program, the app asks how it should sit on your calendar. Templates ask for your training days. Subscriptions ask which week you want to start on. After you set them, the Today tab lays your sessions out day by day.

Finding your way around

The app has five tabs: Today, Plan, Community, Activity, and Profile.

  • Today — home. It shows the current day across every active program, with the session to run and a week strip to look around.
  • Plan — your programs, in four groups: Active, Available to start, Paused, and Coach. When nothing is active, the Available to start group is labelled Ready to start.
  • Community — your coach's community, if you belong to one.
  • Activity — your training ledger. It holds every logged session, plus the widgets that chart your progress.
  • Profile — your maxes, training preferences, purchases, and sign out.

One more thing lives off the Today header. The message bubble opens Messages, the inbox for coach conversations.

Training preferences worth setting early

In Profile, Training prefs covers the settings the rest of the app leans on:

  • Units — Metric or Imperial, one control for weight and distance.
  • Available days — the days you can train.
  • Week starts on — anchors the Today calendar.
  • Default rest and Auto-start on logged set — how the rest timer behaves while you log.
